Toronto Star newspaper page provides information about the paper, and provides links to the Star's own webpage and the webpages of the other major Toronto, and hence Ontario, newspapers. Those links are near the bottom of the page.
Why do I have a webpage about local Ontario newspapers on a site for visitors?
There are a number of reasons; for example, if you stay in an upmarket hotel you're generally provided a free morning paper and our pages will help you choose the one that best suits your tastes, if you have a choice.
Alternatively, if you're staying in Ontario for some time you'll want to know what's going on in the world or maybe just back in your home country. Picking the right newspaper will help you there too.
Key to choosing a newspaper is finding one that fits your outlook on life. There's no pleasure in reading a paper in which you disagree with the tone of every article. And generally that means picking one that most closely aligns with your political viewpoint.
The Star is Toronto's left-of-centre newspaper, with all that entails. Its focus is on social causes and movements that are in the news and the paper's articles highlight social activism around Toronto and Ontario, for the most part.
That said, it does provide thoughtful analysis of national and international events from a 'liberal' slant.
The Star is also a full-size paper, a broadsheet, and usually has even more and weightier sections than the Globe. This isn't a paper for the physically frail to carry around and it takes a lot of reading to get through it all, though many of the sections, such as motoring, are not probably of much interest to a visitor.
